FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
SYNTHETIC APERTURE NOW SHIPPING TEST GEAR 2.5
Enhancements Include 64-bit Adobe CS5 Support
SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO, CA — December 3, 2010 — Synthetic Aperture announced today that Test Gear™ 2.5, a new version of their test instrument plug-in for Adobe® After Effects® is now available for immediate purchase. New features include 64-bit support for Adobe After Effects CS5.
Test Gear installs test intruments including waveform monitor, vectorscope, histogram, and audio monitoring directly into the After Effects interface. Additionally, it adds a color picker and color swatch book support.
Support for 64-bit Adobe CS5
Version 2.5 adds a 64-bit plug-in to support Adobe's CS5 64-bit version of After Effects, while continuing to offer full compatibility with the 32-bit After Effects CS3 and CS4.
The move to 64-bit addressing significantly reduces the possibility of out-of-memory errors occurring during effects rendering. Tests with real-world projects which could not be rendered in 32-bit mode work flawlessly and speedily with the 64-bit plug-in and applications.
New Features in Test Gear 2.5
In addition to 64-bit support, Test Gear 2.5 adds the following new features:
- Improved histogram, slice, and gamut display show color channel values > 1.0 in 32-bit After Effects projects.
- New support for loading Adobe Swatch Exchange (.ase) color swatch books.
- Automatically makes swatch books from Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator available within Test Gear, if those applications are installed.
- Enhanced vectorscope with a zoom capability, using the mouse scrollwheel, makes it easier to see detail when white and black balancing.
- Improved display performance.
Compatibility
Test Gear 2.5 is compatible with both Intel- and PowerPC-based Macintosh systems, running Mac OS X 10.4 and later, include 10.6 (Snow Leopard). For Windows users, Test Gear 2.5 is compatible with Windows XP, Vista 32/64, and Windows 7 32/64.
Test Gear 2.5 supports Adobe After Effects CS3 through CS5.
Pricing and Availability
Test Gear 2.5 is shipping now. The plug-in remains priced at $95. Upgrades from prior versions of Test Gear are $49. Time-limited demo versions of the plug-in are available on the Synthetic Aperture web site.
