What's New in Color Finesse 2.1

  • Now available as both a plug-in and a standalone application.
  • The plug-in now has a simplified interface available directly in the host application, so you don't need to invoke the Color Finesse UI for many common adjustments.
  • You can scrub clips in the UI, letting you see how your correction affects all frames.
  • Direct communication with video preview hardware without additional software. Supported hardware includes FireWire/DV (Mac), Blackmagic (Mac/Windows) and AJA (Mac).
  • Individual controls can be reset to the default value.
  • Preview lookup tables (LUTs) allow for accurate previewing.
  • Includes many more presets, including many popular lighting gels.
  • Simplified saving of your own presets.
  • The Reference Gallery now supports hierarchical folder structures for better organization.
  • Settings can be exported and imported using the ASC CDL (American Society of Cinematographers Color Decision List) format.
  • Curves can be loaded in a variety of formats, including Photoshop, Discreet, and Quantel.
  • Interface to the Colorociter CS-1 Colorist's Workstation (Mac-only) for tactile feedback.
  • Improved performance.
  • The standalone version of Color Finesse also includes:
    • Imports and exports projects from Apple Final Cut Pro via XML. Easily import your project into Color Finesse for final grading.

    • Clips can be grouped by scene so corrections apply to all members of a group.
    • Three-up mode provides grade-in-context.
